Warrior Vacations

May God bless those that gave us the opportunity to have one of the best days of our lives. Its a bit hard for me to believe that there is still people out there that care for our soldiers and the hard work they do for us and our country. I would like to thank the family that donated their time and space for us. I am sure that God will bless them in an extraordinary way.

Staying in the Amelia Inn in Amelia Island was a great opportunity, we went to “yummy” food restaurants, mini golf, we went through an amazing nature tour. Although it was terribly cold (17 degrees), we rented out bikes and rode around the plantation. We also went off the island and traveled to the mall, and historic Amelia.

People were very nice and courteous.

Thank you, thank you and thank you! for everything. Please continue to make a difference in another soldier’s life. This trip helped my husband and I to get our minds off of real life problems and the Iraqi conflict. We also celebrated our 1st anniversary!!!!
Please view the attached pictures, I know they are not many pics.

Once again you both will be in my prayers often. Thanks!
My husband is happy to serve people like you and the this great nation!
May God bless you!

We did indeed have a wonderful week there and enjoyed ourselves very much. We actually left a thank you note at the front desk in the care of Tara Norris. I actually called Wendy Gilvey and asked her direction before leaving it because we were not sure of where to leave it. If it was not received can you please let me know so I can make another one. I am sorry for the confusion if I misunderstood where to leave the card.

Thanks so much for your help. Again, we had a beautiful week and the resort went above and
beyond to make our stay there comfortable.

Thank you for the vacation

Beth and the children and I arrived at Amelia Island Plantation and we were absolutely taken aback at the fantastic resort. I had been to the website previously but it merely hinted at how wonderful and relaxing a place AIP is. We stayed in a condo donated by Josephine and Joel Miele. My deepest thanks to them and to Warrior Vacations for giving my family this chance to relax and to share together. We enjoyed the quiet breezes and the atmosphere of Amelia Island Plantation. This vacation has and will do much to restore and strengthen my family after two Iraq deployments.

Thank you very much. Attached is a photo of us.

My husband and I and our three kids would love to thank you for letting us use your property for my husband’s leave vacation.  We have never been to a place so beautiful, nor stayed in a place so breath-taking in our lives!!!!  My husband even said that out of the 4 deployments he has been through to Iraq, this one was made a little easier because he had a wonderful time on leave.  He said that usually he just sits at home on his leaves, and tries to spend time with family before being called back.  This was the first time he was able to take his family somewhere, have a good time, relax, and enjoy the beauty and benefits of Life!!!  The kids and I had a wonderful time!!!  I saw my two teenagers actually act like they liked each other, and we felt like a television family!!!

My 15 year old son, who is all about being macho and not showing emotion at all, choked up when we first got to the villa and walked out on the balcony at sunset and saw the amazing view!!!  I couldn’t believe it!!!  I know that I, personally, have never been so happy and so content in my entire life, and I owe it all to your hospitality!!!
I am so proud of what my husband does, and he and I are both so thankful for your generosity and your support!!!!

Thank you, sincerely from the bottom of our hearts!!!

This letter is to thank you for letting us use your condominium in October last year.  I know this letter is very late in arrival, but I wanted to make sure to send pictures and to properly thank you.

My husband was deployed to Ft. Bliss, TX for a month in October 2008.  This was prior to being sent to Iraq for a year.  As it happens, 2 days after he left, I had to call him and tell him that we were expecting our first child.  So, I went through the pregnancy on my own.  The Army let him take 2 weeks of leave around my due date so that he could be here for the birth.  I had complications and he was able to stay a week longer.  Thank goodness.

Our son, Weylin Charles, was born on June 9, 2009.  That also happens to be my husband’s birthday.  I raised Weylin by myself from June until my husband came home on October 2, 2009.  What a great reunion!

My husband was able to bond with Weylin and I at your condo in Amelia Island.  There, we were free of our cell phones and laptops and just enjoyed the company of each other.  The two of them have formed a special bond now and I am so thankful that you were able to assist us with this transition.

I have attached a couple pictures on another email.  They are of my husband and his son.  Weylin saw the ocean for the first time and even got in the pool with his daddy!

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity!  We will always remember the special week we shared in Amelia Island!

Our greatest thanks,

Heather R. Cornett

I want to thank you for contributing a week of your condominium’s time to the Warrior Vacations program.  My wife, Kerry, our three kids, and I absolutely enjoyed our time at Fernandina Beach.  The time spent there was a wonderful opportunity for us to spend quality time with each other and just plain relax on a beautiful beach.  We are currently serving in the Army at Fort Stewart which precludes me from being home all of the time so opportunities like this are cherished and the individuals who contribute to make it happen, like you, are extremely appreciated.  Please enjoy the small gift from my family to thank you.

I want to thank you for welcoming us to Amelia by the Sea and getting my family situated for the vacation we all enjoyed.  I also want to thank you for your participation and contributions to the Warrior Vacations program.  The time my family spent at Fernandina Beach was absolutely wonderful giving us an opportunity to spend quality time with each other in a beautiful setting.  Thank you again for hosting us and your participation in this much appreciated program.

Thank you, all of the coordinating people, and the businesses involved with making the Warrior Vacations program a reality.  I cannot express all of the heartfelt appreciation from my family for the opportunity this program provided for all of us to spend quality time together.  Opportunities like this are cherished and all of the individuals and businesses who contributed to make this program happen are extremely appreciated.

Thank you for all of your efforts.
